Hey guys, I got a 2mb throttled account from mweb and was just wondering what the limit is until you get throttled in speed. Is it just at random that they throttle you or is it all set already at a limit?

No idea. There's extremely vague information about this on their official website. Nothing. They might throttle you when you have downloaded over 30GB/20GB of data in less than a month.

Get a Openweb Gold Uncapped 2Mb account and you will be happy for the rest of your life :) Not to mention that it will save you a lot of headaches.

I tried their throttled 2mb last month, was throttled on the 15th after using 150GB.

I did 35GB in my first two weeks of being with MWEB and was throttled.

For the same money, you could go with Telkom. I was with MWEB. They offered me their 2MB throttled account when I cancelled, but heard way too many negative comments about it from people on MyBb. From other users on this forum, I believe Telkom throttle after around 250GB on a 2MB account. I've managed around 38GB since last Saturday, and all's still well on my end. I've never gone over 100GB, even when I was with MWEB's 1MB Uncapped, so I think it's cool.

So i got throttled today at 60 gig. It seems that on the 15th they check how many gigs you've used. I'm just wondering whats the most you can download before the 15th so that they don't throttle in the middle of the month?

You should actually just ditch that throttled account from MWEB and go with another ISP if you don't want to worry about download limits.
