Question about webistes and the law

Hey guys.

Lets say I decide to create a website which sells computer hardware online or something alike(it can be anything really). Can I peacefully go ahead and develope such a website and host without worrying about any laws such as copyright or intellectual property laws etc? Because obviously I am not the first to create such a website. I will however create all the text, images, code etc myself - I understand that you cannot copy any of these.

Basically, can it be seen as stealing in any way?

If you're only talking about the product data, then those would belong to the manufacturers and you would be using it with permission because you are selling their products.
Unless of course you plan on hotlinking the data from another site. Then that's bandwidth theft.

90% of manufacturers supply images and data on their site which you are welcome to use in the sale of their product.
 
he might be referring to the USA trend to patent everything under the sun, including the content, concept and anything that remotely smells like software.
