How do you justify asking R1100/m for a 10Mb uncapped account that gets 1KB/s on torrents and 100KB/s on HTTP downloads (Currently downloading the latest ATI drivers) during the day?

I've done a total of about 40GB this month so don't tell me it's because I'm a heavy user.

First, HTTP downloads, split that **** up into multiple threads using a decent download manager. You'll max out your line.
Secondly, torrents are shaped to hell during business hours, get over it. Either get yourself a downstorm account or get a cheapie VPS and load torrents on there and download them via HTTP.

Alternatively, stop bitching about what you pay for it and vote with your wallet by cancelling the service and moving to another provider on a different backbone with different shaping policies

I was running 10 threads on the HTTP download from various servers...

Not bitching, just trying out the account for the month. It's already been cancelled.

I just find it ridiculous that they expect people to be happy with speeds like that when paying in excess of R1k a month for an account.

I'm on the 799 384k fiber uncapped account. Have been for a couple of years now. After 7pm till 8am I get max speed on my 10Mb line.
The rest of the time I use a capped account.

Hmm, missed this thread. I too got one of these uncapped 10mb promo accounts. For R109.60 is was a steal, but based on current performance or lack there of I doubt that I will move to them.

As far as I know these are just the standard IS accounts. A friend of mine uses these accounts simply because they open the floodgates after a certain time, so he can get a cheaper account and then max his line late at night.

He doesn't use it at all during the day because it's useless.
