Hi

I`m a regular here, using this account for a uni assignment that requires community engagement on social media, would be nice to know for myself as well.
I know a lot of you probably do some development/IT work on the side or full-time freelancing, just interested to know if you use social media platforms to get work, and if you had any success with that.

I used Upwork and networked with Business owners I knew who wanted to create an online presence.

I do believe Offerzen might be offering some kind of freelance service now

I think sector would be important. Social media is good for people to "verify" you and usually leads to them contacting you/leading to them giving contact details rather than just seeing a boring page with nothing going on and leaving.
Who you know is more important than your social media. Social media helps with warm calling vs cold calling (https://www.ironpaper.com/webintel/articles/cold-calling-doesnt-work/ is actually a pretty good article on it).

Twitter's been working well for me surprisingly. Just keep posting cool stuff that you build as well as marketing your skills, stack etc.
