Since the release of the Falcon there's been no "real" evidence that the RROD problems were improved (altough it does seem like it)

So my question to you is since you work with these things...how many Falcon based units do you get in for repairs in comparison to the older ones?

I've received 2 Falcon's, both needed a disc scratching fix. No RROD repair as of yet.

Older models, mostly 2006 (Xenon) suffers from RROD, DVD-ROM failure and dead laser mostly. Zephyr (2007) has been a mixture of RROD, E74 and no video but audio present.

Why you ask?

Oh and btw...Is it normal for new xbox's to make a slight click/tick/crack or whatever sound when you turn them off....I get about 3 - 4 of them after I turn of my console. Might be plastic/metal expanding or something.

That's unusual

The only sound you should be hearing is the rear fan powering down.

Strange indeed

My falcon does the same ! im not worried about it though ! Guarantee Baby :D

Maybe it's because the unit is still new  It's similar to when you leave an old tele on for a while and then switch it off...the plastic also makes that sound. According to google all PS3's do it aswell.

How do I tell what type of console mine is? Bought it April 08, Arcade with HDMi.

Same thing I'm thinking although it's strange that nobody else seems to have/hear it and google is blank

well my monitor does it and my tv also do it so i'm not really bothered or surprised that my 360 is also doing it. (that sounds weird saying they're doing it ... :p but neway)

I also get it on my Xbox and even my PC sometimes ........ and kettle, stove, etc.
