Hey all,

Well I lost my phone a while ago and have already initiated a sim swap through vodacom. I also want to blacklist the handset but this seems to be impossible . I don't have the box of the phone anymore and thus don't know the IMEI.

In any case, a representative at 111 told me in cases like these it's best to go to a vodaworld. I went there and requested them to block the phone, right, and was told that they cannot do this without the IMEI - I understand this is a security thing. I however have proof that I am the owner of the contract and proof of the upgrade. All the paper work I brought along was overlooked. The representative told me that if I could tell them when I upgraded my handset that she would blacklist it. I upgraded in January but the systems at VodaWorld seem to have told the lady otherwise. I was then sent away for "holding up the queue and making life difficult".

Now for the actual question: How do I blacklist my handset? I mean with RICA and all I don't really want to aid criminals but Vodacom doesn't seem to give me a choice.
