I have a 3com switch and an Iburst desktop modem.

how can i get more than one pc to actually browse the network ?
would i have to connect the desktop modem to the switch ?
or would i have to get a second nic into my pc and use some form of ICS etc ? as i want to be able to connect my pc + 2 others in my house and get them to get onto the web to mail / gaming / browsing etc

Thanks,

I would say ICS would be your best bet with the only downside being that the host PC has to be on and booted into Windows.

Best way is to use a router which also offers other benefits.

WGT624v3 The unit is very affordable, wireless, durable and configurable...

You should not be paying more than R 640 for the unit if you are in Cape Town, let me know should you not be able to obtain it for that price.

Regards

I run my iBurst desktop modem off my EnGenius EN-1220 (from pinnacle).
Works very well, very easy to set up and pretty darn stable.
I got this unit for around R400

As for the netgear router mentioned above, I hear only good things :)
