So after reading an article that showed the cost per MB/s, I have some comments:
Congestion - How can we rate the cost of MB/s when a line-speed is described as "best effort"? When users are able to get the speed advertised at certain times of the day, depending on what everybody else is doing. So I can pay R339 for a 1MB/s line, but only get that service after 22:00 and before 18:00?
Reducing pricing with roll out of new services - Telkom continues to expand its ADSL coverage (great!), but with the existing infrastructure taking more strain under a heavier load, should they not be ensuring that the existing infrastructure is not congested before offering more coverage and faster line speeds?
It just seems as if the strategy they are using right now means that the existing customers will experience slower and slower speeds until they upgrade their line speeds and start the process again.
