Hi guys,

- I have an old (purchased last Jan) MTN branded Huawei E352 modem

- The MTN signal is non-existent where I live. It just doesn't connect.

- I then started using a Cell-C sim card. At the best I get EDGE and most
of the time it doesn't work.

- I then checked the telkom coverage of my area. According to the map
I am covered by LTE

- I now have an 8ta sim...

But I need to have the 8ta dashboard software on
the modem for it to work...

Right?

And I have to "flash" the modem?

(i.e. wipe the current software)

Problem is I have no idea how to do this.

I've tried googling but haven't really
found an answer.

How do I do this?

Do I have to go and buy a new modem?

(Really want to avoid that)

Thanks,

I haven't tried this before, but try downloading the TM dash software from their website - Downloads. Then just close the MTN one on autoload.

Make sure the APN is named "internet" and dialing *99#, it should work.

Uninstall everything to do with MTN and rather either install generic Huawei software from here or the latest latest Huawei drivers plus MDMA. Make sure MTN software is not auto installed when you plug the dongle in. There is no need to flash the E352 dongle unless you want to replace the MTN dashboard software on the dongle (the software that tries to auto install when you plug it in) with Huawei generic. If you wish to do the latter, then look here (use Chrome to translate the page) and then use this software.
