Hi all
Using the official tool from the MS website to download Win10 iso on to a bootable flash drive.
I'm downloading it using a Win 7 32 bit laptop but I want to download Win 10 Pro 64 bit for a new PC I'm building. The tool didn't ask me which version of Win10 I want to download, the only option was a box which said "recommended version for this PC" or something which I leaved unchecked because the machine I'm using to download is 32 bit.
The download process started, but I can't see anyware what version it's downloading.

Is it downloading both 32 and 64 bit options both the home and pro, will I get a choice when installing?

Don't think so. Where that check box was you should have had the option to choose a different version. Some dropdown menus.

There is a small download for the tool, then yhat runs and downloads the installer.

As I recall, it downloads the version on your existing PC. To get the 64bit iso, its a bit messy, but it worked for me: download the Win7 64bit iso, do a quick basic install maybe on a spare HDD, then use your Win7 32bit key to activate, then download the 64bit Win 10 iso.

Thanks, my internet is pretty decent for a change tonight, download is already 70%, so if it's the wrong version I'll just retry.

After you unchecked the "recommended version for this pc" it should give you options. Tried and tested before and was able to download both 32 and 64 bit Iso versions this way.

It was also not necessary to download the tool first. As I said, it's just drop down menus.

To get the options you have to tell the download tool you will be using the iso on another PC.

Yup.

Can't believe people here do and so base installs and crap just to get to another version.

Also an option is to just go get the Insider build and then it asks which one you want.

Put your key in after installation and turn Insider off.

It is unbelievable how many will go to extreme lengths to follow all sort of crazy ways to do things instead of just READING properly the info on the MS site and then follow the instructions on the screen!

And , if you are going to take the trouble download a ISO onto a memory stick Download both versions. It takes only a little bit longer ....

The first time after unchecking the box for this PC I missed the options somehow and just clicked next, but second time around I saw it.
Options is for Windows 10, Windows 10 Home single language and Windows 10 N. I presume then the Windows 10 option is Windows 10 pro?
The other dropdown is for 32 bit, 64 bit or both which is pretty straight forward.

Correct, just 10 is pro and home is well home. Don't bother with N.

Downloaded it last week. Win 10 as the option, when you do the install it gives you home or pro as the install options.
