Quick question about Gold Reef City

So my nephews asked me to fund their first little trip to Gold Reef City so I have a question. Assuming I have purchased their theme park tickets and booked a hotel room for them(Southern Sun Hotel), I'm guessing they can move to and from the theme park to the hotel as they please? Like for example, they arrive and go the theme park first and then later check in to the hotel, return to the theme park and maybe go back to watch a movie/bowling etc..?

And yes, I know it's 4am. Don't mention it, I have trouble sleeping..... Because I lose track of time while gaming.

Uh, they won’t have time to leave. Took the kids a few weeks ago, managed 5 rides in total. About 6 hours was spent in queues. We were there at opening and left at closing. Nice memories, but never again.

Wow.. That doesn't sound like fun. They'll just deal with it.

This queue time delay must be because of social distancing regulations ?

No, social distancing meant the queue for the Anaconda extended about 200m past the normal end of the queue. There is no sanitising of rides between passengers. The delay is due to approximately 1,000 people being in the queue and it taking 20 people at a time.

We went there a few yeas ago, paid for entrance at the normal gate and spent the day in long lines. Afterwards we went out and drove round the the hotel entrance. The guy said we could just have came straight there the morning and skipped all of the queues. We had about 5 rides in total that day. The next morning we managed to do the anaconda like 4 times after breakfast while the park filled up via the normal gates, still managed to book out on time.

We stayed in the Gold Reef City Theme Park Hotel a few years ago.
It's basically in the theme park with free entrance to the park.

I think we were part of the first people at the theme park after it reopened, went on all the rides at least once, all the water rides at least 5 times, since my daughter really enjoyed those rides. It was empty, but we really had a great time.

It's closed for some reason, saw on their website. I think the one available is the casino one.

I went in 2019, first time probably in 15 years and lets just say my weight and height made it so I could ride only a few rides, like anything that didn't squish me.

I was there a month ago. Wouldn’t recommend it. The lines are too long, there is no social distancing whatsoever, too crowded. Avoid if possible

I found they were stupidly strict with social distancing. I got a strike (a black cross on my wristband) for adjusting my mask. Three strikes and you’re out.

I think I will go and not go based on above feedback.
