Well yesturday I did a system restore and after patch 2.4 that corrupts ALL your wow files and forces you to do a full reinstall, so beware!

My question is, when reinstalling WoW from scratch, do you have to install normal WoW, download all the updates, then install TBC? Or can you just install WoW and then TBC straight after. I'm not sure if the TBC CD contains the old WoW patches, I'm hoping so if anyone can tell me ..

U need to update to 2.1 before u install BC I think.
I've had no issue upgrading to 2.4 on both mine and my fiance's PC. Sucks that you had your install corrupted.

Thanks, the TBC CD does include all the old WoW patches. So you just have to install WoW --> TBC --> Patch to 2.4

Actually doesn't take that long!

yeah, afaik from TBC -> 2.4 is only something like 450megs. Not too harsh at all.

Hmm martin, that sounds like the full 2.4 patch (2.x → 2.4.0 = Full Patch (~923-1130Mb))

Dont you have each of the patch updates in your wow folder?

I had a similar prob on my desktop. I just reinstalled WoW, then patched as far as I could, then installed TBC & patched again.

I noticed if you reinstall WoW & TBC straight after without patching WoW alone, it kicks out an error. Might just be me...

Goodluck! :D

I don't have a 2.0 to 2.1 or something like that. The only way I can patch further is by using the blizz downloader. Entering WoW gives me one massive patch to download, all the way to 2.4. Nice they added that, so that you don't have to update the small ones inbetween.

Ah, actually I do have them, thanks, I will patch all the little ones and hopefully it will take shorter :)
