Hey Guys

I know a little bit about what my router stats mean when it comes to the Noise Margin and Attenuation rate, but can anyone please tell me what the hell this means?

That means your modem is not functioning correctly, unless a nuclear bomb went off outside your house?

2147483647 is a signed 32 bit integer (2E32 / 2) -1. Minus 1 in other words. Your router will show this if it just lost the line or is disconnected.

I've seen this on the netgear routers just after a line drop when the modem is trying to establish a new connection and isn't quite there yet.

Ahh, I see, thanks for the reply.

I restarted my router now and my Noise is back to an awesome 5db :/

Ok so my router is still doing this and quite often, when I notice my internet is becoming really slugish i log on to see this every time. restarting my router seems to fix this tho, so I guess the problem lies with the router, anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

im sitting with a noise margin of 6.5dB, Telkom are sending a "ADSL Specialist" to do major testing on my line to see why my line attenuation is so high and why my noise margin is so low.

Mine often sits on as little as 2, sometimes even going down to 0, will maybe see 14 on a good day, and im already down to a 1mb line

phoned them a few times and still no ones come to check my line

Please tell me how you got that right(to get an "ADSL Specialist" to come out. My Attenuation is quite hight but noise margin is on about 15dB on 1mb. Moving it up to 2mb brings it down to 8.5dB but line keeps losing sync
