Lets say I have an RA with Liberty currently valued at R 2 Mil. The management fees being charged monthly on this RA are around R3,500. Disgusting robbery but apparently normal in this industry. Assuming current monthly contribution to this RA is R6,000, Liberty is taking 58% of the monthly contribution to fees for themselves!!! Perhaps the worse possible investment anyone could ever make!

Moving this RA to Outvest is my next thought. Purely to eliminate the Liberty's hideous fees. A Section 14 transfer will only cost around R20K in penalties with Liberty. In just their fees alone, that will be recovered less than 6 months.

No brainer? Or am I missing something? How good is Outvest really?

I've moved from Liberty to 10X myself and it was quite a smooth transfer. 10X did most of the work. Liberty is crazy expensive. I also moved away from Sanlam to 10X as well. Also easy.

Can't say I know anything about Outvest though.

I moved two of my RAs to Outvest this year. I also moved 2 preservation funds. I was happy with the service I received and so far everything has been smooth. I have no complaints.
