Hi,

can someone explain the SA cookie law or provide a link where I can read up more on it as I noticed there are a few SA websites that blocks you from using the site unless you accept the cookies without any option to reject the cookies.

Is that legal as I read the GDPR of EU does not permit a website to force you to accept the cookies and I understand that we do not have an entire cookies law but we do have POPIA?

thanks in advance.

Go read up on POPIA. They are still not enforcing it strictly. But, yes, it is a requirement from POPIA for all websites to have these warnings. I know this, because one of their advocates actually contacted me about 2 years ago about my website.

The website owner still have the choice whether to allow users or not. If he or she does not want to spend money on giving users freedom to choose, he has the right to ban their use in total if they do not agree. There are currently big US companies blocking access from EU to their American servers. There is no law anywhere in the world forcing a website owner to provide access to everyone.
