Hi,

Just out of curiosity....I play a few games with my buddies(LAN) via ADSL router, and was wondering if I remove the line(connects to ADSL-ready telephone) which is unecessary while playing games. Would it consume any of my Internet Caps?

Thanks.

What! Start your own thread. What you're doing is called thread hijacking and is considered almost as bad as vehicle hijacking.

What do you mean with an ADSL-ready telephone? If your line isn't connected to the router while playing games, the router can't eat bandwidth. If the phone is a VOIP phone with an ADSL modem in (do you get something like that!?) it can still consume bandwidth.

If I understand this correctly you want to get everyone logged in and connected to their say STEAM accounts to be able to play the games or You use your router as a network switch to get everyone connected to your LAN.

If it is to connect and to authenticate before you can LAN and you plug out your telephone cable you will not be able to play as the specific game will try to make sure you are connected to the internet.

If it is the latter and you just use the royter as a switch to LAN everyone go for it as it will have no effect on your network itself.

LMAO, Agreed, you will get your qxn answered there!

Back to the issue at hand

If you are using your modem as a switch to connect everbody it shouldn't use the bandwidth
