Hi Guys
I have a quick question

I am interested in the new Kia Picanto, have any of you seen it in real life and perhaps driven it?
I am looking at the top model @ R115000

Another question is, would you go for the picanto or something second hand in the R100 000/ R120 000 margin?

Thanks

I'd go for the Hyundai I10 in that price range, but that's me. I think it's a sexy car :p The picanto is ugly.

im sure you can get a polo vivo demo or with low mileage for that price range but then again they come with no extras at all ...where as i think the i10 comes full house cos i know the atos came with full house

my GF got one about 3 weeks back, the 1.0 Lx, very nice car imo, i have also driven it and was impressed, and i think it looks much nicer than the i10, essentially imo they are the same car anyway.

I guess it all depends on what your car needs are. If something like a Picanto works for you (not my cup of teat at all) then go for it, at least you have the warranty to help you out, should anything go wrong. I would go for a used something in that price range rather than a Picanto, but that's me. I suggest taking one for a long test drive and see for yourself if it will satisfy your car needs. This is something only you can answer for yourself.

All new cars are almost equally reliable/unreliable these days, but you have the warranty and maintenance plan to help out.

Thing is, I would really like the features...that is why I wont buy a Vivo..it doesnt come with any extras! and it even comes with a front loader that has a detachable face.. I mean really we talking abut 100grand + lol, just not value for money imo.

I was also looking at cars from Zeda motors... I see they have 2010 hyundai I20's with about 25000 Km's for R129000? this a good deal?
Also seen some corsa essentias in that price range.

yeah I know they sell Avis cars, is this a really bad thing? the car comes with balance of service plan and factory guarentee.

no not a bad thing, just be weary, there is a LOT of carp out there, regardless of who you buy from.

My brothers GF has been driving a zeda car for 2-3 years now NO issues.

I would rather look at that i20 than a Picanto, any day of the week.

i have i20 and GF has the picanto, picanto is awesome but i20 different league.

check for the usual, check inside bonnet for signs of accident damage, check panels are evenly space, over spray, feel gearbox, check for oil leaks, go for a long test drive, open window, turn off radio and listen to engine. (best is to drive without the rep, if they drive with tell them to shut up)

etc

LOL! ok thanks for the advice! will do! :D

The Picanto is fresher than the i10, but you do get a little more in the i10 at a slightly lower price.
If I had to buy right now I would take the i10 because its more bang for your buck.

Does anyone know if one can take an extra warranty out when buying a car from Zeda motors?

Well the car still will have a lot of warranty left, as for motor plan will also have, but you can take out a plan from motorite when it expires if you wish

But pop into your nearest Hyundai

So I drove the Picanto

So I drove the picanto this morning....and I must say I am impressed... you actuallu get a lot of car for 115K
Loved the feeling of the nice leather steering wheel, and it feels like a much bigger car!!!

The sales person told me the Kia Rio will be here in about a months time.... and it will be around R140 000 and VERY high specs..
So I think I am gonna wait and drive the Rio as well and then make a choice.

O yeah... I had a look at the Cerato hatch! geeezz...If I could afford it I would DEF buy the Cerato...
You get a golf class car for a polo's price!! Kia is reaaalllllyyy stepping up their game! go Kia! :D
