So after being a Dota player for close to 8 years I have eventually given up, not because I don't want to, but for the reason that I feel that the MM is just flawed, I have really come across games where we have very close games, it is either us dominating the other team or vice a versa, and I find this is because the game is at such a large scale now with new players coming in the whole time that you are always ending up with a less experienced player on your side. Where as when dota had a much smaller community there were way more serious players with much better games, but now it's just like there is always hoping to side with someone who speaks english, it does not seem like it even matters if you have english language selected.

When I was playing HoN I found the PSR system worked really well, not the best all the time, but much more better match ups than that of dota.

Secondly, I think it's cool that you have drops after a game and can trade items etc. but for me this kinda killed the game in a way, because I find now you just get players who are just playing for the sake of seeing what might drop after the game and not really caring about winning or losing as long as the game finishes and they get to carry on with their online Barbies and trade stuff online for the hope of 10 cents or a dollar. It's basically just becoming an addiction like some sort of gambling to see what you get at the end, and I just don't feel that "true dota player" feel for the game anymore or amongst teamies. Which sucks because I really like Dota 2, but its just lost that feel that the W3 days had.

Is this Dota 1 or 2?

I can't say the same, we been playing party of 3 to 5 about every night. We do find games where one team face rolls the other team but with that said. We once played as a 5 man team for 3 games straight where the match making system puts us vs the same 5 man team in all 3 matches. First match we lost bad like crying bad then won the other 2 just by the nail.So one could say that maybe just wrong picks, wrong plays and bit of not playing as well as you can sometimes.

Yes one does get Russians in your team but then again, I find it that some of them are even better then my team. All to all , I am happy with it as it is. Better then war3.co.za would have ever been.

Well if you're playing on Europe servers you can't exactly expect to always get English speakers. You'd get better luck with SA servers.

Hmm, I always play on the South African server (only one enabled) and half of the people there are Russians. And then they lag out or I lag out when there are 8 Russian people there. I suspect that they use a server in Russia if there is more than 5 of them.

He is talking about dota one in war3.co.za and dota2 and compares them. He says war3.co.za was more balanced and the games didn't run away as much which I agree with.

war3.co.za was also brim full of absolute w4nkers which is why I stopped playing Dota for ages and only recently started up again with Dota 2.

Yes it was, but you got to know the players and you always knew what kind of game to expect, now it's just going into MM holding thumbs and hoping for the best, and when I mean the language barrier I am talking about Russians, they seem to be a nation of I do what I want, if I play with people from other countries who dont really speak English they don't act like this, and right now it feels like the dota populations consists of 3/4 russians.

I've played on the European and South African servers and have yet to encounter a Russian. That being said, I haven't played a big enough set of games to yet to call it a true sampling. Came across one Chinese guy, but other than that it's all been varying degrees on English.

Incidentally the knobheads still exist in Dota 2...they just seem to be in less overwhealming numbers. Couldn't get a game on war3.co.za where it wasn't overrun with 6 shades of bungholio.

Ranked matches put you with players in your skill pool. If they lost easily they probably dont know how to play the certain hero or they didnt play their heroes role properly.

All of your lost games have one thing in common, being that you played them. Accept that, analyse your play and become better. You'll eventually have better games again. Yes, you will always run into ****** players, this happens across all MMR levels, but these games are few and between.

You have my sympathy dude...pubs on SA servers are retarded. When playing stacked we absolutely stomp in ranked, but solo queue is horrible.

I was also super pissed at the **** players on SA, but take my suggestion and find a clan that's at your level of experience. It's the only way to advance your skills.

That's how it's supposed to work.

It's definitely not even close to 100% yet.

Not on SA, on EU and NA it is. Maybe not 100% but the mmr gap is unnoticeable. Having played about 15+ ranked captains mode games at 4k+ mmr on EU, I maybe had 1 team that was half bad, but the rest were awesome. The high ping doesn't make it viable to play on EU with a hero that requires very good timing, so you usually have to tell that to your team.

SA's player base is small, hence bigger gaps in skill level.
