R.i.p. Amd

EDIT: Also it's too early to predict Amd is gone and it's also to early to say what speed the processor will run at, it's changed so much the last couple of months I doubt anyone can be sure until launch, Amd will obviously try and squeeze as much from the CPU's as they can to try to remain competitive with Intel.
Maybe this is what we wanted all along to force them to stop their stupid multiplier locking. :) Part of the reason Intel was still so popular when AMD were overtaking them was because of their high overclockability.

btw, they have been listed at AMD's suppliers and even at some etailers, the top speed at launch is 2.4Ghz, with 3 models going all the way from 2.2 to 2.4. :/ I'm pretty sure those are the final clocks.

And all the reports have said the multiplier will again be locked, expreview have an unlocked sample chip but claim the retail release will be locked.

My Socket 939 AMD is going along just dandy thanks.
I have 2 spare motherboards in the cupboard for the day they may decide to give up the ghost.
