R1000 mechanical keyboard?advice

Wait for one of the sales on Carbonite and get a Corsair.
 
Get a 2nd hand instead like CamiKaze suggested ... My main reason for this would be that (assuming this is) for your first keyboard, you'll be exploring your switches so you want to lessen the risk of making an incorrect decision.

I ended up getting a redragon devarajas

there's a backlit red redragon k551 for R910 at rebeltech (this would of been my first choice, but the rgb ability is like a few hundred more)

My experience is that while i love the sound of browns, it gives my wife a headache and irritates her ... so while that's really her problem lol ... maybe I should have gone with reds or blacks for a "more than one person in a room" environment

My experience of rgb is that is more of a novelty thing. Being backlit is more important than rgb. These days I roll with either breathing, solid backlit or the ripple effect. I mostly type with my keyboard, so my fingers are all around the keyboard. I suspect that experiences will be different to a gamer that has to deal with fewer keys?

Note that the redragon switches are not cherry mx, but are rather outemu switches ... they're equivalent in terms of the "color function" e.g. outemu browns are similar to mx browns, and only an enthusiast will be able to tell you the real differences.

Thinking of going Gigabyte k85 (has different color schemes) and seems like a decent build
