R2 000 for Video Card

Well I got R2 000 to work with. Possibly even a slight bit higher, but Id like to work with R2 000.

I can buy from Rectron which sells a Gigabyte GeForce 7600GT for R1 950 inclusive.

That card looks awesome, Id go for it. Also take into account that the 7800GT is in the region of R2 500 and might possibly be a better buy.

Yeah, I am currently running a PCX - 5900, so it will help. Yeah I couldnt get a price for the 7800 from Rectron P.E, but I will try Rectron Cape Town's price list.

X1800GTO is faster than 7600GT in memory bandwidth limited situations and around the same otherwise, so if you plan on playing with AA/AF the X1800GTO will be better. Besides, X1800GTO's have a high unlock rate to 16pp

I imagine the 7900GT would have oodles more performance but i'm 2 lazy to dig through THG.

I would be rather happy with the GeForce 7600GT to be honest. Rater in like 10 monts get another mid-range card and sell this again.

As I said i currenylu have a 5900 so its like 5x imporvement in Direct X 9 titles. My 5900 only scores 800 points in 3DMARK 05 7600GT scores more than that hehe

You guys think Gigabyte is an ok brand?

Anyway, i dont put too much into Brand names, as far as i'm aware because these 7900's are pretty new all the companies are following the reference design from Nvidia .

I am thinking I will go for the GeForce 7600GT for R1 900, the easiest option, also very affordable, performance is still good for gaming.

I was also looking at that card but will there be a big difference between 6600GT and 7600Gt ?
