I was also looking at that card but will there be a big difference between 6600GT and 7600Gt ?

AFAIK the 7600GT performs a bit better than the 6800GS, so yes

Umm... maybe, but on the other hand it might be better to just save up for a 7900GT and buy a bit later, like you said, you can still play games at a decent quality, so maybe its better to wait a bit. IMO the 7900GT is the best value for your money ATM, and if you're lucky they might come down in price in a month or two, or maybe im just a bit optimistic

Just cant figure out why 3DMARK06 and PCMARK05 keeps crashing.

I dont think its because I have a 5900 at the moment.

3dmark06 requires dx9 hardware to work, afaik . Might be totally wrong, but that's never stopped me in the past

Yep, but AFAIK the 5900 is DX9 compatible, and 3DMark05 also needs DX9 hardware, so if that runs, 3DMark06 should also run

I just find it strange that PCMARK05 also does that.

Exactly what happens is:

1) Start >>>All Programs
>>> Futuremark >> 3DMARK06
* click 3DMARK06

Waits - splash screen comes up... takes like 10 seconds. Then it appears to check my A: drive for a second, and within 2 seconds after that I get the blue screen.

Anyway, why you would *want* to run 3m06 on a 5900 is beyond me

I have ordered my 7600GT and waiting for it to be delivered, so I installed it in advance, but I found my problem by using Google. I believe there is a conflict with Futuremarks software running on a VIA South Bridge contoroller which is what I have on my system.

They're selling for R1999 at the shop where I usually buy my things.
Anyone know about them?

7600GT is better, I had to choose myself between them. Take 2 has a 7600GT for R1900(Chaintech), but I bought the Gainward one for R2 375

yes, that is reasonable, but I would personally never spend that kinda cash on a video card lol
