:D Using VM sim on Vodacom network provides me a with very stable connection.
 If I am using my VM sim on the cellC 2G network then my connection is very bad. Sorry disconected ...

Therefor I choose the VM sim on the Vodacom network - but what are the cost/Mb? Can VM guys give me a clear answer on that please?
It appears that VM charged R2/Mb if I work through the Vodacom network - is that correct?

I do not work for VM, if that is what you mean by "VM guys", but I also sometimes roam on the Vodacom network. You will still get charged 50c/MB and not R2. Nothing you can do on VM should allow them to charge you anything but 50c/MB for data.

VM = VirginMobile

Well then I am going to monitor my data-usage very carefully from now onwards to determine what it really cost with romaing and withour raoming.
I just smell a rat - whether it is true or not I, will soon discover the truth.

If I am on this forum for 1 hour, is it possible that I can use up R7 worth of data on Virgin Mobile network? Disconnect after 1hour.

Try some nasal spray to cure your problem:p

That of course will depend on how fast you read and how many pages you got through in one hour. But it is always best to have a program such as netmeter to keep track of your usage for future reference:)

But if a page is open and you have a lot to read then there shouldn't be much data count.

I doubt it, this board uses very little, you can always turn off the images in your browser, also if you are not doing anything... like reading pages etc, then you can stay on all night, you only pay for data going in and out... so for example if you logged on and made two posts, which cost 20c - Then you went out to the shops and got side tracked, came back four hours later... your usage is still 20c

HOWEVER... what you have to look out for is leaching and leakage - For example proggies up-dating, like your AV - Windows up-dates, spyware having a chat to thier masters... so while you are hanging around doing nothing, have a look to see if your modem is active, if it is find out why

My updates are switched off, windows and anti_virus updates.I use my Nokia N80 as a modem.I will watch my data count from now on.

Also watch out for pages with heavy Flash, firefox is good at blocking data hungry Flash Anni's - Hate ppl that have flash only pages

I have tested my data usage.
It is .50c/Mbyte with a VM sim roaming on Vodacom.
It is .50c/Mbyte with a VM sim on CellC2g.

Do you get 3G/HSDPA speeds on the VC network using a VM sim?
