3G at 28c per MB doesn't sound bad at all. But R150 for the sim doesn't seem to be worth it.

I think your link is broken. I can't seem to find the article

While some of these new offers are enticing, i'm sticking with Afrihost until i've seen what WA brings to the playground. :)

Now bandwidth is super cheap on my ADSL line but I am still paying through the nose for Vodacom HSDPA. Come on Vodacom - drop your prices!

You can use SIM provisioning on Gconnect. They link your current SIM to their network. I used it previously when my Vodacom was capped to just buy small amounts. Not sure if it works with MTN sim cards.

It works only with Vodacom Contract sim cards.

So how does their connection monitor thingie work now, do you still need to have a browser open?

Does it work on Win 7?

Is Vodacom HSDPA your only option?

Pretty much. I use prepaid and want to keep on using a prepaid option.

MTN are on a par with Vodacom's pricing so it is pointless to move to them. I don't have Neotel or Telkom 3G coverage but they don't offer prepaid so it is a bit pointless if I did. I don't have iBurst coverage either in all the places I need the Internet too.

So basically MTN and Vodacom have a lot of people locked in due to their coverage. I hope that Neotel, Telkom and iBurst increase their coverage areas quickly and offer the beauty that is proper prepaid to their customers...

SWEET ... But ill continue with Afrihost.

If they made it R20, then it would give me grounds to consider G-Connect.

Yes it works on Win7. You install it. Its a mere 8mb application. Run it then enter your details and minimize it to system tray. You are connectable and get ping to the UK of 200ms just like webafrica's trial. And the best thing. It seems to be unshaped. Cause I get full p2p speeds and lowest latency compared to IS and Telkom.

I don't know why people don't use them. Yes its a app but its cheap prepaid. R37 per GB of prepaid bandwidth for ADSL. Not including the promo which is cheapest per mb offering out now! :D I'm using them. very happy! Will have a free R50 worth of data invite soon! :)
