Is anyone here using the Vodacom/fone R207-Z mifi device with another sim card? (in this case Afrihost?)

Despite configuring the APN and setting the dial-up number to *99#, it claims to be connected MTN at 3G but just never actually routes any traffic. I know its not a signal problem so something in the device is not happy.

If the vodacom software on it is hard-locking some kind of IP, gateway or DNS - does anyone know of where to find firmware for this? Google searches just bring up loads of people claiming to unlock it for $6 or more...

The APN must be Internet for MTN and Afrihost is Afrihost. I also found a place to get the codes required.
