Long story short, I need someone who knows one of the OG's of the .za.net dns registry from back in the day. I have a legacy domain still that has a few accounts I need to get into which has 2fa linked to it.
I dont have access to the original registrant email addy anymore, thus I cant use the auto-dbm dns amendment tool.
I need someone to tell someone to check the [email protected] email for the proof I sent through to manually process the dns amendment.
And for that, I am willing to pay on completion.

Can you not somehow get the existing listed DNS servers to work?

Same boat on an old domain I'd have liked back. Nobody home at their email

Im sure someone here has to know an admin that was part of this project. Holding thumbs

Let me reach out to some people who may know some people

za.net announced their closure years ago nothing sinister there. Think they even gave you 3 years to migrate if memory serves.

I too eventually had to let my domain go as I couldn't update the records to my new DNS.

Yeah I understand, and yeah, this has always been a 'if it aint broke, ill get to it later' type of situation. Seeing that the TLD is still active someone somewhere is still providing a service to keep this running.

Gents, it has been sorted!
Got a reply from the [email protected] email late last night:
"
Apologies for the delayed response. You hit us up at a very rare time where the few remaining admins of the service are all on holiday at the same time.

I authorised the manual-modify request this morning, so hopefully that should put you on the right track."

So glad to see those guys are still keeping the system alive.

The old grapevine still works, clearly. That was Sinbad from the MyBroadband forum that poked me - he's an old acquaintance from uni days back in the 90s :)

Glad we could sort you out.

Hiya
Glad I was able to make a connection for you

As mentioned in the other thread, given the amount of effort this took me, would you consider donating to Gift of the Givers instead?

Reminds me of that twitter post about the value of currency and mcdonalds and ended up with a ZA guy getting money donated from the US to buy himself and a bunch of homeless some mcdonalds
