R25m for toy gun guards

Yeah, if I had to guard somewhere with only a paintball gun, and guys showed up with AK's, I'd be like, "would you like me to help you load the van?"
 
How dare people mock paintball guns - these things are not toys. :mad:

SA is a high crime rate country. This could work in a place where criminals are few, scared and unarmed. In SA, no way. Furthermore it's extremely dangerous, considering a criminal could mistake this for a real gun and just choose to execute the security guards ahead of time for safety's sake.
 
People are acting like the company does this on purpose from the start.
Nope..the do this because they are all awarded tenders for security jobs based on corrupt contacts and tender awarding, and get issued tenders for millions of rands for jobs they have no idea how to do.
So they then hop on over to the local gunshop and say "we need to buy guns for our guards, we have a tender starting soon"
Oops. It's not that simple. They need to get PSIRA registered, then get the company registered by SAPS and the CFR...then get all those guards competencies....to possess and for business purposes. Then get a responsible person appointed. And then they can buy guns and try to get licenses. And maybe a year later or more they might have licenses for firearms for their guards.
But oops! Our contract is starting in a few weeks, and our contract specifies that our guards must be armed. Oh what to do!
No problem! We just buy them either pellet guns or paintball guns and call them armed guards. Doesn't matter anyways, we are making 20 Million for doing nothing anyways.

This is how it works folks...and it is happening all the time, everywhere you see some new little BEE security company with a sudden contract. Not going to change, because tenders are still being awarded to whoever knows someone and the money is in the millions of rands. Pathetic

But yes, agreed. Ridiculous how even with a lack of history or even a bad history companies are awarded contracts.
