My friend wants a tow-bar for his new 116 bmw. They quote him R26000.
Sounds a bit heavy for me.

If that is the case its nit a bad price imo

The 116 towbar costs R7300 from BMW. Any quote that deviates too much from that is BS and your buddy should kick up a storm.

Tell him welcome to bmw.this is how they pull the wool over everyones eyes.base car price seems competative, till you add extras as standard on other cars in that class.bring vaseline.

You got me there, seeing as I have no idea what you talking about...

..... <-- what you did

It's no fun nitpicking a nitpicker's post if he doesn't English :( :p

You haven't been car dealer shagged till you buy a Porsche

It's not the fitting of the tow bar that's the expensive part. It's the re-fitting of electronics. Maybe they are quoting for a new loom, reprogramming ecu, the electronic stability program might need additional sensors, etc.

Tow bar would affect the parking sensors as well wouldn't it?
