K, this is completely off topic but I heard from a friend that with Vista, it only allows you to activate it twice. Can someone maybe confirm this or correct it for me please?

Twice via the Internet but you can phone MS and get it activated more than twice.

The bottom line? As long as you remove your old copy of Vista from your old machine, you can transfer it to a new machine as often as you like -- providing, of course, you use only one copy at a time. Users buying preinstalled copies of Vista on new machines are not affected; they cannot transfer their license.
