Probably not, they seem to be compatible with other Vag vehicles and have some benefit the stock ones do not have, reliability or something, not sure but have seen many people mentioning them as replacements on non R8's.

Hey, I bought these for my previous Audi A3 and they worked perfectly. Can't remember where I got them but they worked out cheaper than the originals and apparently last longer.
