R8500 Gaming PC... What do you think?

I'm compiling a new Gaming PC... So if you got any input that you would like to add(in terms compatability, other options etc.) feel free to let me know. This is my 1st time compiling a gaming PC from scratch, so any input will be greatly appreciated.

Looking to Spend <=R8500. Here Goes...

ASUS Intel Nvidia 650i SLI Motherboard
E4500 or E6650 C2D CPU
2GB 800MHZ RAM
250 HDD
8800GT Graphics Card
Samsung 2232GW
450W PSW
Gaming Case
keyboard + Mouse

What do you guys think?:confused:
 
Yeah, it looks good. But mabey if you have enough money you could go for a Q6600. Samsung 2232GW is nice. If you get the PC send me a 3D Mark 06 score. :p
 
The E8200 is only around R150 more than the E6550 and quite a bit better, I'd go for that.

The PSU dependson the brand and quality, 450Watts could just handle that system if you are only using one harddrive etc.
 
Does this mobo support ddr3 and ddr2? that way in a year's time when ddr3 gets cheaper you can slap it in.

Rather go for a beefier psu.

otherwise it looks good - wish I had R8500 spare to build a new pc.

edit: with the awesome prices of ram, not sure if you should go to 4gigs esp if you are running vista.
 
don't buy that board, you'll regret it.
Stay away from NV chipset boards for now especially with 45nm processors.
 
check my sig out i jsut bought this pc and i have ordered my graphics card at ati 3850 512mb, this pc is nice and a quick... and all over +- R8500
:)
 
I would rather suggest the E8400 if you not gonna overclock. Sells for about R1800.00 - R2000.00. But a much better and newer processor than the E4500(though the E4500 overclocks quite well).
 
I would get the following

ASUS P5K board (P35 chipset)
Brand name Power supply (480W) (like an Antec, Coolermaster, Zalman or Enermax)
E8200 or E8400 CPU (depending on budget) - forget Quad core for gaming, money better spent on fast dual core.

Otherwise pick what you want.

Thanx! That's very helpfull... Anyway what makes [P5K] - ASUS Intel P35 LGA775 better than the one i chose and how many watts of PSU should i go for?

And Sipphron I'm from JHB, but i'll pay for delivery if your prices really good!
