Race row?
Looking for answers in the Manyi-Manuel race clash

Manuel also stated that he had “a sense” that Manyi’s racism “had infiltrated into the highest echelons of government”, thereby attacking also the very government of which he himself is a senior member. So what happened to make him act outside of party structures and discipline and go to battle with Manyi - and his own government by implication - over a “coloured issue”?

They say "where there is smoke there must be a fire", It this case it seems like a nuclear meltdown? Have the Leopard (ANC) eventually showed his true spots.

People who still argue about race are morons!!!! Manuel is no different from Manyi, Verwoed and all racists black or white or coloureds for that matter...

Surely you missed this part of the article?
Manuel, as ANC veteran and intellectual Jakes Gerwel points out, is a man totally committed to the organisation, always following correct procedure, and very disciplined. And he never allows himself to be bracketed in terms of race or group – indeed he said he was confronting Manyi not as a coloured but as a non-racist.

... thus it's rather the ANC goons that are showing their true colors here, following up from Malema as the official retarded ANC spokesman and other recent ANC comments and proposed laws there seem to be too much evidence to ignore. I presume the goons believe the statement that "Blacks cannot be racist" .

It rather seems that the ANC do not deserve people of the caliber of Trevor and rather the Dingaan profile of Malema is what they strive for.

Race row. Isn't the proper word for that Regatta?

Quite a suiting question. The ANC are following only one course, a Regatta down the river to be lost to sea. No change in course to get out of this race issues is possible under the current regime. NEVER!

With the coxswain-Zuma- beating the rhythm of corruption.

From what I understand about it is that Trevor was bashing Manyi for his racism and that it doesn't belong in the ANC which alleges to have nonracial ideals. So Manyi was racist, Trevor was against racism and then the wanted fruadster guy Paul Ngobeni then replied to it to calling Trevor a gangster..

The question though is why did Trevor Manuel wait the whole year to respond to Jimmy? As a minister in the presidency it's surprising that he never said a word when Jimmy was hired to the presidency. Also it is unlikely that he was not aware of what the department of labour was up to seeing that he is the head of the national planning commission.

Maybe he did not wait for a year, maybe it was brooding or boiling for a year but kept under wraps, and now the steam-pot over-pressurized and exploded.

Everybody waited a year because nobody knew of these comments made on KykNet until Solidarity dug them up. It just never reached the media or got anybodies attention back then. Unless Manuel was watching the program why would he know about it.. none of us did.

Also the comments about coloureds being in over-supply were definitely not policy of the labour department even then. It was just a stupid comment that Manyi came up with on the spot if you ask me.
