I wonder if the ANC reigned in Malema when he started with the kill for Zuma statements if we would be in this **** today? At least we have a backup plan if everything fails, Apartheid's fault!
There were fears racial tensions were mounting despite assurances from President Jacob Zuma that the majority of South Africans remain united in their support for the Constitution.
Since Eugene Terre’Blanche’s murder last week, white and black South Africans have openly criticised one another.
International media organisations have also warned soccer fans that they might be coming to a 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup caught in the middle of a racial war.
Zuma said recent events have raised concerns about social cohesion.
Terre’Blanche’s murder has been labelled as a racist attack by some and ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema has raised fears of white farmers being kicked off their land but Zuma remains optimistic.
“Some people have spoken of heightened racial tensions. Our history tells us there is no challenge we cannot overcome,” said the president.
A Groenpunt prison inmate in Vereeniging said racial tensions were prevalent.
“After this thing of Eugene Terre’Blanche, the white guys are in charge,” he said.
A black Ventersdorp woman was allegedly raped by a white farmer last week, apparently to avenge Terre’Blanche’s murder.
