actually 3 trees: a K tree, K - wag n bietjie- tree, K-pruim. Now how do I explain that to my gardener without sounding racist?
 
The use of racial slurs is probably a reflection of one's family upbringing. It's not very easy to unlearn the stupid things that one picked up as a child.

WTF are you guys on about?

Hurling about an obscenity and treating somebody differently based on their skin colour are two different things. I have no problem with obscenities, but I certainly do with the latter.

The only reason that some of these words are offensive is because they were coupled with racial abuse. There's no problem with calling somebody a fat idiot, we do it all the time. But doing so in conjunction with giving your wife a black eye is obviously wrong. In the same way it's offensive to call a Chinese person a chingchong while beating him up with a dead dog, but would it be wrong if you called him that just because you know he'd take offence? If that's the case then you'd need to stop all obscenities altogether, otherwise it's just double standards.

Now if you can't tell the difference between the two then there's no hope for you or the human race, as you will inevitably breed. I can't speak for the others but I don't condone it either way - just explaining the difference from the point of view of somebody who's racially neutral :)
