'Racist' initiation: Pupil faces charges

Think a murder charge trumps crimen injuria. During the apartheid era, I remember people could drop the k-bomb in public without any fear of repercussions, pretty sure the government and newspapers remember this so they try to make examples of those still making (seemingly) racist attacks on the previously disadvantaged.

True (re the bold), but I would just be interested to read up on a police/court case of black on white racism, excluding Juju (if there was a case here).
 
Would love to know if this would've made news if it'd been white girls who were initiated by white girls...

Highly unlikely, even if they went to the cops it wouldn't have got to the papers unless one of the girls were kidnapped and murdered or they killed their parents blaming some other guy for being the 3rd son of God.

we have to hear about it on this forum all the time though, it has to be racism for it to be genocide correct? there are plenty of genocide stories on the web too with sites dedicated to it. truth is black on white racism doesn't sell unless it's Malema, just like black on black crimes don't grab attention as much as black on white does.

All I want to look at is an official police case of black on white racism. I'm not saying it does not exist. Just want an official case to read about, but there does not seem to be any which is interesting.....

But, there is not such thing as a black racist as "racism" is defined as "whatever any white person do that could/would/may agravate a black person" in the South African context.

Your 'definition' is what got this country into a mess in the first place.

That will make it the majority then? Not my definition just a typical definition of those that believe only whites can be racist.
 
This story is so hyped out over nothing its an absolute joke, before they posted this story it would have been good journalism to find out why the other "white pupil" did not attend as well as finding out if there was actually saliva in the purity. then maybe they would have had some form of an article

IMO I think inititation is stupid anyway. Team bonding my @rse it is just a method of doing stupid ***** with a bit of a license.

Seems to me you do not get the picture, There are many racist of all colors, the point these guys made is that when a black person is racist then it's either not newsworthy or not considered as racism. Whenever a white person is deemed racist by his "perceived" actions then it's all over the news and the "critters" are arrested, etc.

it's the mothers blowing it out of proportion as mothers do. it's not the kids fault, i think we can all at least agree on that

i get it, but just because the media makes it an issue doesn't mean every south african see's it that way
