Racist Poster at Tuks

I heard this story on the radio this morning and thought I may have missed a few months and it was April 1st
An allegedly racist recruitment poster at the University of Pretoria (Tuks) has students up in arms.

The placard was placed inside the Kiaat Residence, calling on members who would be willing to do menial chores to sign up.

The notice asks for students willing to clean toilets and the inside of the club house, among other chores.
The last line of the poster reads, “Candidates have to be black”.

The image of the poster made its way across campus through WhatsApp Messenger, with numerous students taking to Twitter to express their distaste for the placard.

Professor Ernst van Eck, who governs the Kiaat Residence, said it was all a misunderstanding.

He said house members were trying to diversify its ranks.

“We are trying to make the club house committee more representative of all the different cultures. White people will wash the toilets with them [the black applicants].”

According to Tuks management, the poster was taken down and officials are in talks with those responsible.

The university's communication department said an investigation was underway.

I mean WTF? PC gone beyond BS
a) Can only certain types of position be reserved for AA now.?
b) Why aren't the first years up in arms about being excluded from these positions ... that's just yearist if you ask me

Like a comment on the article says, they should have said "AA candidates only". The PC-facists would have had nothing to complain about then :D
 
I agree with the professor regarding the misunderstanding.

The situation might well be that too many white students are already doing the cleaning ... they just want to even it out.
 
BEE is only liked when it is in lekker high positions................
I know it was a misunderstanding but the reaction shows the intent.

One would have thought that it would be WEE that is needed in not so lofty positions.
 
In all honesty, it was a stupid choice of words and anyone with half a wit should have seen it would have upset some people.
 
LOL, yeh if its for management then its BEE otherwise its racist.
 
Transformation is obviously only important for driving Mercedes Benz, not for cleaning toilets.
 
I am surpiced how some of you can justify or make this an non issue. But then again, this is myBB. Somethings just dont change.

Absolutely, like SAA who will only allow black people to fly their jets. Their candidates have to be BLACK.

You are right. Don't advertise "Blacks Only" cleaning jobs.

Go easy on him ................ afterall it was at Tuks un in Pretoria, so prob written by some Afrikaaner who prob cant put a decent english sentance together.

BTW who in thier right mind would sign up for this???

What happened to honesty and transparency...Doing stuff behind people's back in a sneaky underhanded way is the way of politicians in order to hide the obvious problem is the job of politician.

Do you even understand why they advertised for black people only?

The only thing that hasn't changed is your anti-white bias, so why not start a MyBBB (My Black Broadband) if you feel so offended with the people on this site?
