Looking at putting down the cash to get myself a system that is going to last and be "somewhat" portable. i.e no drilling into walls or connecting to DB boards.

I want to rack mount the system and battery to the bottom of my 15u rack, leaving space for another battery later as well as my networking odds and ends etc.

Looking at the Mecer Axpert King 5K 5000VA/5000W Hybrid Pure Sine Wave Inverter - Rack Mount

Then thinking of pairing it with a Revov R100 or a B100...

The system will only serve to run my network, 2 PC (about 1000w total for both under load), and maybe a TV...

So i'll be well under the wattage. but the portability of having it a rack make it easy should i decide to leave this house, it's a simple take it with me kind of deal...

Thoughts from anyone? Suppliers? I'm in Cape Town :)

Its a good route to go if you looking at completely portable and a much larger system. Having built a number in server cabinets. Bit of advice for the batteries, try getting some Aluminum equal angles to support the battery as they tend to hand because of the weight. There is also a Sunsynk rack version which I have available also. Just check on your AC cabling also because seen some cable leads with only 1.5mm copper cores but being called 2.5mm. I normally just have a nice thick AC cable going to a PDU in the rack.

If you have a mesh door you wont have trouble with airflow.

Seen quite a number of folks thats renting and dont want to have to touch the DB but happy to run a few extension cables and these builds in the server cabinets are ideal, Can go up to a larger inverter and battery size and tug it around anywhere.

There re a few cupboard solutions available.
Mine is in one from Fullcirclesolar.
My daughter had hers done a month ago and everything (8kw inverter plus two 5 kw batteries) is in cabinet - really looks great.
