Think Newegg had one brand for 500 dollars and the rest for 600 dollars.

I got one from amazon for 600 usd, should be here in week or so.

Also, AMD's driver revisions should improve performance, just not sure how much.

Not enough to make it a compelling purchase over a similarly priced Nvidia card unfortunately.

Wish it was a different story but I guess if you put the R&D budgets of the two companies into the comparison Radeon actually are doing spectacularly well. That unfortunately doesn't sell products to anyone but the most die-hard fans (and miners).

Also bear in mind that apparently $499 was the "introductory" price and the real price is actually $599. AMD gave its resellers a rebate to lower the price.
