Yes we rely on the fibre line being installed, so until that is done there is nothing really to do from our side. But please let me know if Vumatel doesn't reach out or respond so I can escalate if need be.

Thank you PBCool for all the response.
Now let me cancell my Telkom LTE and DSTV.

Wooden poles going up all along the one side of Mozart, up Melba, down Strutt/Maritz/During streets with tether hooks being affixed on the street lights on the opposed sides of said roads/streets. We spoke to a contractor in passing who said most of the infrastructure and provisioning is due for completion end May 2017.

Are you live @stiller26?

Not yet.
Still no contact from Vumatel/Fibrehoods. Been waiting for them to call and send people to install it inside my house.

People from Fibrehoods where busy over the weekend at the corner of Christian de Wet and Rinyani Ave with testings.

Good day. Your area is only due to go live in the next week or so. Once the area is live, residents will be contacted to arrange installation. Please visit our website and select and ISP package for your home as the packages have all been confirmed for your area. Once the isp has confirmed that all documentation has been signed, they will advise us and we will arrange the installation.

That's from Fibrehoods.

Thanx DP.

I think I need to contact them via Twitter to make them contact me.
Since I applied on 20-02-17 have never been called by them or the ISP i selected.

Has your ISP contacted you for the install inside your place? And which ISP did you choose?.

I have managed to call some people who I know in the complexes regarding the FH workmanship and feedback is mixed. Some are singing their praises whilst others are stating it has been the worst thing ever, citing crime issues afterward, poor workmanship, incomplete connections and entire areas being taken out by a pole being crashed into.

Anyone care to comment on their experience?

I've been live since Monday and it has been brilliant so far. I am a bit concerned with the installation though because the fibre connection to my house runs through a tree and i am afraid that it will not survive the first storm we get.

I live in a complex and we didn't have any workmanship issues. The fibre cables are running through the manholes and into the communication boxes of each units. The only time they had to dig it was when the conduits were blocked, after they were done with the digging, they layed grass.

We didn't have any break ins and theft during and after the fibre installation.
