Radovan Krejcir is behind bars in a secret location after spending several days on the run from the Hawks. He handed himself to authorities in the early hours of Friday morning.
On Tuesday, police found a hit list at his Bedfordview home that included the name of Cyril Beeka, who was killed in Cape Town on Monday.
The Hawks’ McIntosh Polela said Krejcir handed himself over 20 hours after first missing a meeting with them.
“Mr. Krejcir, through his lawyer, decided to hand himself over to the Hawks and he was subsequently detained and taken to a location which we will not disclose,” said Polela.
Security consultant Paul O’Sullivan who has been working with the Hawks on the case said: “We succeeded in South Africa where many other countries have failed.”
It is not known yet if Krejcir will be appearing in court on Friday.
