Rage is getting worse each year they hold it (going by what people say) and I think it's sad that they seem to have sold out and put profit above the gaming community.

Yea, there where hardly any specials. Afiak not even BT games had any decent specials.

The biggest fail was the recommended retail price for the PS3 move was R360 (I got this from the Sony stand) and everyone "special price" was R449. I phoned look and listen in Boksburg while I was there and they confirmed the normal price is R449.

Sad. So sad.

I totaly agree there wasn't any real specials, you can find the same prices at any decent local online shop..
The expo was a bit of a disappointment:sick: but the open lan wasn't too bad. But yea rage is going down hill. Sadly:(

And why are new titles STILL R700?? The Rand is doing awesome vs. other currencies, but we're still seeing sky high prices.

I actually thought this year Rage was one of the better ones.
It was also the first time Ive been to the LAN and they were super helpful to a clueless Noob - thanks NAG BTW for that!
Note for next year - 2000+ people in a hall fart a lot.....

I am not sure what people are expecting from the expo - If you are expecting to see the latest Game technology, from the wireless Rapala fishing Rod to the xbox Kinect, to the latest alienware, to some uber hot rage babes, it was all there.

If you were expecting PC specials and great prices, from the days past of the defunct PC fair, sadly this wasn't the case - there were no great specials to be found. I think Rage need to get a bit more clout and at least introduce one new hot game and be the only place where it is available for pre launch, but other than that, the cage fighting was cool, didnt get to see Pippa girl fight......was too busy at the lan:(

I have heard that the lan was good. But as far as the actual expo, there was nothing great going on.
The cage fighting was.. fun but you couldn't actually see what was going on unless you where on the balcony. McGoniɡal's new hairstyle was also something to see:D
I was expecting something similar to the other rage expo's I've been to. A wireless fishing rod? erm ok...

Also, Etienne modding live at the show was also a bit lame. What he does is awesome, but watching is *** unless you can be involved. Dremel definitely has a place at the show, but I think that they should rather have Etienne hosting modding workshops on what you could do with the tools. Take a basic Dremel pack, give Etienne a mike ala those verimark stands you see at all the other shows, and let him use the tools in the pack to do a basic mod. ei: installing a perspex window in the side of your box ect..

The playsation stand was awesome, and chatting to the mede8er guys was cool too.
What I was expecting was stuff I had not seen before, other than the fishing rod (which was actually quite cool, but still kinda meh..) .

Overall it was same old, same old... It was kinda like going to the mall.

It's called milk it, it's what every business in South Africa is pro at.

You mean beauty is in the eye of the BEERholder?

I also thought it was a bit disappointing. Why on earth would they only sort out the MW2 issue on Saturday, forcing people to play on the alteriwnet version? Also, no BC2? Crazy man! Those are basically the two reasons I went. I really didn't want to play COD4 all weekend and I surely didn't want to ATTEMPT to copy 1TB of sh*t from someone who keeps switching off his DC++. It took me almost 3 hours to copy HALF a game ISO then the dude switched off his DC++ and thats all she wrote.
