Q. Will there be h/w specials at Rage?

In essence do you guys think that the specials (if any) will be worthwhile enough to wait another 3 weeks or should I buy a monitor now - current prices on 23" seem to be quite good.

There may be good prices but from past experience the prices are so so. Normally there is some good pricing on some arb items but Ive also noticed that some stores actually become more expensive than they normally are in anticipation of the OMG...everything is on special craze

I would just buy a well priced 23" screen now instead of waiting.

also, i'd feel safer knowing that when It blows up on monday morning after Rage, I can just return it to the shop, instead of finding out where the shop is located that was at rage...

Don't bother looking out for huge rage specials or discounts.

There will be less folks retailing and less distros from previous years.

Thing is the organisers refuse to lower the floor space costs - so less companies attend especially in such tough economic times.

Go out now and rather get you the goodies you look out for.

I am going there purely for the Lan and takign my son along as part of the experience for him.

But if you looking out for a good deal, Rage is not the place.

You may be one of the lucky few to win an item in one of the random draws, but as a whole, don't bother.
