Basically i have a 10-disc 300GB Software RAID-5 which decided to turn heads up after i installed a controller driver while the set was regenerating.
Bascially 3 of the 10 drives reverted back to basic Discs under the disc management, causing the RAID volume to be unavailable

Anybody knows of software under R1k that is capable of recovering a broken RAID-5?

Would prefer to test recovery first before purchasing. Current options i have tried seems that it will take like 4 days to analyze the RAID in order to recover it. With current Eishcum abusing our power rights, i dont think my pc can stay on for four days at one time :(

Thx for the Help guys

as you have learned from this, RAID 5 isn't the best option, since it can only handle 1 disk failure. With 10 HDD's, rather use RAID 10 or RAID 6.

Anyway, wat OS are you using, and what file format is the HDD's in?

Learning phase are tough..
but will try RAID10 in the next set with bigger discs.
OS : Windows XP
NTFS
Used a "patch" from i think 2k3 to allow software RAID-5 on it. Dont think it was the cause of the problem tho, as i have
another pc with a similar setup running without any hitches.

EDIT : RAID6? havent seen that yet.
