Last month I decided to check out Rain's unlimited 4G, since my existing Telkom LTE contract was coming to an end, and I was looking for something that was more cost effective.
I was excited to try out Rain, as I loved the idea of it. I order my SIM and paid R 479 up front on their website.
The SIM arrived, and once I got it activated, I tried to make it work, but it seems that everything was throttled, one way or another, and it just wasn't going to work for me.
I ended up going with fibre, which I had been avoiding for various reasons.
Rain keep telling you how easy it is to cancel your SIM so I thought I would have no problems. Little did I know.
I cancelled the SIM on their website, on the 18th of Feb, 9 days after it had been activated. I expected the cancellation to be immediate, and was a little surprised to see a message stating that the SIM was scheduled for cancellation at the end of February.
Rain tells you over and over again that if you cancel within the first 30 days, they will refund you the remainder of your R 479, but they don't tell you that even after you've requested cancellation, they'll only cancel your SIM at the end of the month, so the remainder is most likely considerably less than expected.
Anyway, I thought nothing more of it. On the 1st of March I logged into my Rain account to see if my SIM would reflect as cancelled, and I was confronted with the a message stating that my SIM was now scheduled for cancellation at the end of March???.
I immediately sent Rain's billing support a message because I was concerned that I would not get the refund that was due to me and that they might try to bill me at the end of March.
I haven't received a response yet.
I happened to check my bank account today only to find that Rain have debited an amount of R 325.04 from my account?
Again I sent there billing department a message.
It makes no sense. I used there internet for 9 days, and so far they've charged me a total of R 804.4?
@rain_mobile Can you help me out here and sort this out?
