Rain 5G suddenly dead in Area

There seems to be something completely wrong with how Rain monitors their network and towers. I woke up on thursday morning to find that my 5G router could not connect to network anymore. I become accustomed to how Rain 5G responds during loadshedding. It would completely fall back to 4G but in this case both 5G and 4G networks are unavailable. Rebooted multiple times with no available. Logged a call. Later around 5pm. A glimpse of hope reappears, both the 4G and 5G networks connect without any intervention on my part. Was finally able to Netflix... didn't last long. Within 10 minutes they both died again. After 45 minutes it was back again only to die within 10 minutes. This process repeated for about 3 hours until it finally stopped with no network. Friday morning it returned. For about 3 hours and vanished again. That was the last time any network was available..logged another call. They had no idea what is going on. Basically means I'm screwed.....

I wonder how long this will last....

I'm sitting with the same. Been tying to get hold of Rain support since last night at around 6.

I keep on getting to position 1 in the queue for live chat then it just stays there for 30+ minutes, 3 times this has happened now then I get an email in my mailbox "hi sorry seems we have missed your chat"

I have sent 3 support emails with no response. (replied to that chat twice and drafted a new support email)

I've been on hold with them this morning for 2 hours (118 minutes just listening to the hold tone)

The only thing my router picks up is 4G and even that keeps on dropping and being super slow. I cannot even load Youtube on 480p it just buffers the whole time. AS mentioned in another thread, just opening this page feels like I am using 56k as it keeps on timing out.

The one time I briefly got hold of a rain rep, she told me she was in the 4G department and would have to transfer me (even though I selected option 2, 5G - and then the phone cut off.

In my 12 years of having Telkom DSL at my home have I never had such shitty support. I work in customer support myself (IT Helpdesk) and this level of support to customers is atrocious to say the least.

So I got hold of Rain support, and the guy confirmd my tower is down and there is a ticket logged for repairs.

He suggested I move my router to the other side of the house, even after I told him there is a big ass mountain in the way. Pin is my location with my tower(s) to the south. Mountain to my North with PTA north on the other side. He suggests that I try it I might get signal over / through the moutnain.

I am in Claremont and also lost 5g since yesterday at 6 pm, I was pointing towards booysens primary school. Was your CPE pointed towards booysens? They told me to change my direction to HTS tuine but its still only picking up lte, which for some reason gives worse speed then 3g. Have to wait till tomorrow now since support is closed for the day
