So were we in Vredekloof. Neighbour was dealing with a munty big snake in his garage. Long and nasty full of aggression. Looked like a cape cobra, but some thought it was a mole snake. Either way, it is now just another dead snake. Lots of hot rain. Felt like being in a warm shower.

About 20mm in our gauge in Kenilworth overnight, and 22mm reported at SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek) up to midnight. Quite a lot more than I expected, based on the model charts.

Plenty more rain is forecast later today (Mon 12th), though these systems are very unpredictable!

The cicadas were chirping al little while ago (which is in itself unusual), but have now gone quiet. It's frikking humid and muggy. May some rain and storm arrive soon.

I have a guy just up the road from me, he's coming around this afternoon. Roof lasted the entire winter season and one summer downpour and everything goes sideways.
