Rain B315 Router- Network locked?

I signed up for the rain double deal during November 2017.

Fibre has since launched in my area and I cancelled my rain service.

I would like to give the router to my friend but I think I read something at the time that the router is network blocked.

Is there any way around this, as there are no rain coverage in his are

None of the RAIN routers i've worked with were locked
That said,the frequencies the router receives is not guaranteed to work with all networks everywhere since everybody has their own slice of the spectrum pie

Those routers are not network locked. It was the sim cards that were set to only work in certain specified routers. So that router should support all the local providers fairly well.
