Good Morning All

I am currently have a 8MB ADSL account with Afrihost, however after a storm my ADSL is completed faulty. It has been more than three weeks from Afrihost / Telkom to get the problem resolved and getting to a point that I will need to change to something that works until they have finished the fibre in stallion.

Looking at Rain, however according to their coverage, I am just just out, however I do pick their network up when searching from my phone. Are you guys receiving any good speeds from them. Just looking at using this as streaming devices. Already have LTE router, just need the sim.

Look around a bit on this forum, no one is getting good speeds especially at night

I live in Rietvallei park and now use Rain as my primary internet connection.
The fastest speeds I've seen is over 60 Mbps download and my average is always around 40 Mbps download. Yes at night I experience slightly slower speeds, this was terrible at some points earlier in the year, but as Rain upgrade their network, I hardly notice these days.
As for just being out the coverage area, you should still be fine and get good speeds as reported by others here on the forum. Just the other day we tested my Rain on a friends farm just outside Pretoria, as the crow flies he is around 15 km outside the coverage zone, but he still got average 10 Mbps download speeds, he used my Rain for around a week on his farm without any issues while I was on holiday.
