Setting someone up with Internet on the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town (Mouille Point).

Deciding between Octotel (the available fibre provider there) and something mobile like Rain / Telkom.

It seems that Rain performance varies drastically from place to place.

Wondering if anyone has any real-life experience of performance in that area.
When there is loadshedding, do the towers go down? Our fibre remains functional even during loadshedding (different area and different provider, though)

Cheers

Don't bother with Rain - unless you are OK with expecting downtime.

It works, then it doesn't and shouldn't be considered if any type of WFH is needed.

Go with Octotel - they're local and RSAWEB are in The Point building should you pick them as your ISP (sister company). Which means it's fairly easy to hold them accountable.

Thanks for the feedback.

Definitely leaning towards fibre at this stage.
