Hi guys. My Rain debit (soft debit) bounced on the 5th of the month. I was away from home and out of the country for a couple weeks so I could not use it anyway.

However I would like to reactivate it now:

1. How do I do this?
2. If I reactivate now, would it run for 30 days or will it try to debit again on the 5th of next month?

Basically I'm worried that I pay now but only get two weeks service.

Please advise :D :D

Rain payments are in arrears so the balance due was of the previous month.

Now I am confused. I paid and received a months service. Paid again and receive another months service after which another payment attempted and the service ended.

Even uncapped? I understand the capped version where you pay for what you used only but with uncapped it don't make sense.

Unless something changed when you activate you don't pay. You pay for the bill at the end of the month.

If you signed up for 5G the "deposit" that you paid was used for the first month and was used for that month at the end of the month although you paid it up front so you weren't debited. Then the following month you used and paid what was left over of the "deposit fee" due to pro rata.

You never really pay first to get service with Rain.

A good example that I can make is with Rain 5G premium. R999.

When you buy it online you pay R999 and then the order gets delivered.

You activate it today. That means from today to month end is 14 days. R999 / 31 = R32.23 per day x that with 14days R451.22 which will be charged at the end of the month but you already paid the R999 deposit. That means end of this month you don't pay anything and means R999 - R451.22 = R547.78 credit remaining.

At the end of the following month you had it for the full month meaning you will be debited R999 - R547.78 (credit/deposit left) R451.22 will be debited from your card.

Next month you will use it and the end of that month you will pay R999.

Billing is in arrears even if you pay a "deposit" or upfront fee and should show in the first month end that you won't get debited.

I paid when I activated R479. I am on the uncapped 4G.

@cavedog ok that makes sense. Weird way of doing it but I get it.

So if I pay the two weeks arrears, will it get reactivated?

If you pay now then yes you will get activated instantly. End of this month I'm not sure if the invoice will be reduced based on the time your service was de activated that is something @rain_mobile can advise on.

Thanks Master Cavedog. You are indeed wise on these things.
